Skincare 101 : Is It Necessary To Have Low pH Products?

Low pH level is the most importants things to be considered when you want to treat your acne and to maintain a healthy flawless skin. Low pH level is slightly acidic, to maintain healthy and balanced skin’s acid mantle.

pH level of Acid Mantle : 4.71 (Saba M. Ali, Gil Yosipovitch, MEDICAL JOURNAL)

THE TOP REASONS WHY YOU HAVE ACNE/SKIN PROBLEMS

  1. High pH level

  2. Frequent usage of alcohol/astringents ingredients

  3. Dehydrated skin (oily & dry skin types)

  4. Hormone

Normal pH level of skin is around 4.2-5.5 . Newest reasearch shows that the best pH level is around 4.8. In order to have acne-free skin or other infections, you have to maintain the pH level in slightly acidic [low pH level].

The first steps to do is find a low pH products/pH adjusting products. I was so impressed with korean skincares as they have so many choices of low pH cleansers and toners.

  1. Cosrx Low Ph Good Morning Gel Cleanser
  2. Sum:37 Rose Cleansing Sticks
  3. Benton Honest Cleansing Foam
  4. Cosrx Salicylic Acid Exfoliating Cleanser

For toners, I love how moist and gentle their ph adjusting toners. It has big differences from Western/Local toners in terms of formulation and ingredients. Western toners tends to use alcohol or astringents ingredients to banish acne/pimples. BUT, all those alcohol etc actually distrupts your acid mantle because of high pH level. High pH level will dries out your skin, and make it sensitives and easily irritated. Dehydrated skin because of the usage of alcohol will ‘creates’ another skin concerns. It will makes your skin become to oily or too dry. So, it is important to use pH adjusting toners in your skincare routine. Korean toners will adjust your pH level and keep it balance WITHOUT drying out your skins. This is because they add more hydrating, moisturising and soothing ingredients in their toners. I would say, their formulation for skincare is the best I’ve ever tried.

  1. Cosrx One Step Pimples Clear Pads
  2. Cosrx Natural BHA Skin Returning A Sol
  3. Cosrx BHA Power Liquid (weekly)
  4. Benton Aloe BHA Toner
  5. Klairs Supple Preparation Facial Toners
  6. Cosrx AHA/BHA Clarifying Treatments Toner
  7. Mizon Black Clean Up Pore Water Finisher

In case you are wondering where to get all the products with affordable prices, you can get it HERE or HERE

Actually I’ve been trying out a few toners for the past few months. If you want to know what toner I’ve been using, you can refer to the older posts. Right now, my current ph adjusting toner is Benton Aloe BHA and I’ll definitely update my thoughts on that toner.

Hope this post will be helpful and please don’t forget to share it to your friends.

Bye!

    1. Hai Tyra, I have dry and dehydrated sensitives skin. But sometimes, it can get very oily though. Dry/Oily skin types means they lack of either oil/water (dehydrated). I recommend you to use Cosrx Natural BHA A Sol if you have severe acne/bumps. For dry skin types/just slightly acne prone, Benton Aloe BHA works wonder 🙂
